WELCOME TO ST. MARY'S
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is a warm, welcoming and diverse community of faith. We come from many different backgrounds, but we are united by a desire to live Christian lives, to grow spiritually and to show God’s love to others in all we do.
We are an active parish, with a comprehensive Christian Education program for children, youth and adults; a vast array of ministries; an excellent music program and many opportunities for fellowship. One of the distinctive features of St. Mary’s is that we are like a family, loving each other, supporting each other in difficult times and rejoicing together at times of joy.
The Episcopal Church has a rich in liturgical tradition. All of our services are based on the time-honored and beautifully written Book of Common Prayer. Yet, at St. Mary’s, the tone of services varies from the formality and solemnity of the highest holy days to our informal summer services—some of which are held on the lawn.
St. Mary’s is one of 174 parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut. The Diocese is part of the Episcopal Church USA, which is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
On average, 175 people attend Sunday services at St. Mary’s. Many of our members are active in ministries that serve our parish, our community and the larger world. We welcome guests and visitors and have special inquirers sessions to help new folks feel at home here and learn more about St. Mary’s, the Episcopal Church and the Christian faith.
